So we all think this is a great thing. I read it on every blog and on every fb page about how this is so great. Well let me tell you about my experience. Disney Dining Plan wasn’t available for my most recent trip the way I wanted it. Meaning that it wouldn’t cover all we wanted to eat. Here is what I mean:

There was two of us adults and a 2 year old that ate for free at buffets and very reasonable at sit down restaurants. We took $1300 and had money in our account if we needed more. We came home with $100.00. So for 11 days we spent $1200.00 on food and bottled water, etc. First off we bought the Tables in Wonderland card for $75.00 which gave us 20% off our meals at the sit down restaurants. With Tables in Wonderland gratuity in the amount of 18% is added. Which means you only get 2% off but what you see as your total bill is what you get. In this cost we ate at:

Kona – Breakfast and Dinner (2x)

Whispering Canyon – Breakfast

Boma – Dinner

Ohana – Breakfast and Dinner

1900 Park Fare – Breakfast

Crystal Palace – Lunch

Tony’s Town Square – Lunch

Chef Mickeys – Breakfast and Dinner

Artist Point – Dinner

Yeti & Yak – Lunch

TRex – Dinner

Hollywood & Vine – Lunch

That is 16 sit down restaurants and one pretty pricy one at Artist Point.

With the basic dining plan it is $47.99 per person and would include 11 sit down meals. So you still have to pay for 5 meals. It is $95.98 per day for two people. For 11 days the cost would be $1055.78 total. But I only spent $1200 on it all which is $144.22 more then the dining plan and got 5 more sit down meals. I have some of the receipts still to hopefully show a breakdown at a later date but really what am I missing? I think I had a far better deal. Oh and btw We also ate at a quick service each day on that $144.22. So……………..

Now how does that dining plan look? In my opinion i like my deal better.

Also don’t forget that FREE dining you get Is based on RACK rate room not discounted room. Again not a sweet deal when you pay $200 for the same room that i get for $100.

Well score!!! I just bought three packs of huggies brand diapers and a bottle of purell for $1.94. How?

Huggies are 9.99 the big Costco size boxes have $3.00 off coupons on them and work for any size box. I used that paired with a huggies coupon on target.com right now to make the cost$4.99

Pull-ups are $9.49 I used two of the $3.00 off coupons and two pull-up coupons from target.com to get two packs at $4.49 each.

An 8 oz bottle of purell was $2.99. I used a$1.00 off manufactures coupon and a $1.00 off coupon found at target.com to get it for $.99

Final cost: $14.96 - 5% off from red card $.10 = $14.86 but tax was on the original total which was $2.10. I used a $15 target gift card and paid $1.96 out the door. Woo hoo!!!!

Paying for Disneyland ~ Food for thought ~

There are some ways that you can save for Disneyland without adding strain to your bank account. Since the park is surrounded by a city there area lot of places to eat and sleep. There are also a lot of rewards sites out there (Favorite is Sunshine of course) that offers you gift cards to different places. Not everyone like Sunshine offers a Paypal cash out. If you do have that ability you can always get a Paypal debit card or put it on a prepaid visa and save that way. But if you are a fan of a rewards site that offers a gift card that you thought doesn't help you with your trip you are wrong. Mypoints offers you points for reading emails. That is all I do. I earn about two $25 gift cards through them. They do offer Visa Gift Cards but for me 4500 points isn't worth the $25 when you can get a Rainforest Cafe $25 gift card for 3600 points. There is also a Target about 2 blocks away where you can shop for things like Diapers and Sunscreen or water and a chip for your camera. That is 3900 points for your $25 gift card there. And a Starbucks in the Hilton hotel, at the Target Shopping center, and at Harbor and Ball which is right next to Disneyland. A $25 gift card there is 3600 points. Then if you use MySurvey you can gift cards there to in addition to a paypal cash out or a check you can get a Roy's Gift Card for 2750 points for a $25 gift card. There is a Roy's at Garden Walk just about 2 blocks away from Disneyland. Further you can shop through Sunshine on Restaurants.com which always has a coupon it seems and get a Restaurants.com gift card to House of Blues at Disneyland for a $25 gift certificate.

So did you think about any of these things? There is so much to do here. Why not take the time to look into it? Disneyland may be a reality after all.

Paying for WDW ~ Food for Thought~

Since I posted the other day about Disneyland and getting there even if you don't cash out for Disney Gift Cards I thought I would post about WDW. I have always been an on site hotel stayer eating in the park. The only time I have eaten off property is at Cracker Barrel which I love. But I know there are a lot of places that you can dine at and if you worked it right you could probably eat for free with gift cards for your entire trip. Actually if you worked it right you could probably go for almost free. So here are some tips for you:

Rewards Site number 1 Sunshine Rewards. All time brand loyal to this site. They also offer Disney Gift Cards. I am paying approximatly $70 for a night on a Saturday in September at the Pop Century. So.... If you stayed 7 nights there it would cost you $490. This is tax included. You could use Sunshine Reward to get a $500 Disney Gift Card. If you took all 6 surveys a day you would make about $120 a month so in less then 5 months hotel paid. Then you could move on to tickets but we won't count that.

Then if you did the paid clicks through Mypoints

(Brand loyalty again with all other rewards offerings) you could get Cracker Barrel, Rainforest Cafe, TGI Friday's, and even Visa Gift Cards. So now you have food taken care of sort of. You aren't going to get it all here but you could get a few $25 gift cards. For some other food offerings use MySurvey as well.

Another for hotels is ERewards. Ever Heard of it? It isn't overly exciting but I do use it to get Hilton Honors Points and there happens to be a Hilton Downtown Disney. So..... You could use some points on this.

If this was the case lets break it down:

Hotel: Sunshine Rewards for Disney Property or ERewards for Hilton (If you did ERewards for hotel you could use Sunshine for Tickets)

Food: Mypoints and MySurvey

Freebies: How about Opinion Outpost or SurveySavvy? These could be used to get all those goodies you always want to buy but never have the money for.

It may seem like a lot of work but if you really want something bad enough the work doesn't seem like a lot. Talk to your people in your house about it. Maybe if you all work together as a team you could to to WDW for almost nothing out of pocket.

Have you all tried out MySurveys? Who is a member there and what do you think? Well if you have tried out MySurveys, have you tried SurveySavvy? If you are a member there, what do you think? I didn't want to post until I got my most recent payment, a check in the amount of $3.00. I got it yesterday in the mail. Which puts my total for them up to $40.50 earned since I started taking surveys with them. So who are they? They are a survey site. Just like Ipos and MySurveys and all those. The only difference which I love is they pay you when you want to be paid. You don't have to wait to reach $10.00 or $20.00 or cash out only to Paypal or to Amazon or something. They cut you a check when you request it. They are slow to roll on the checks sometimes and can take up to 6 weeks to get but I have been lucky and they have always only taken a max of 3 weeks to get. When you take a survey through SurveySavvy you can earn some pretty nice bank. The $3.00 check I just got was for one survey that tool 10 minutes. They email you when a survey is available and you go in and take it. They don't spam you they don't do anything fishy, just legit surveys. I have been impressed and whats really cool is at times they send you thing to try too. If you like getting money from survey sites check them out. I would love to have you join and see what you think first hand. I get about 2 to 3 offers per week. So you could make a pretty good amount of change. Check it out.

So now that I have shared MySurvey and Opinion Outpost I need to share my big moneymaker. Sunshine Rewards is my rewards program of choice and I say this based on one thing. CUSTOMER SERVICE! I have never (and have searched) found a rewards site that will answer a question when you have it, find a coupon when you need it, and get you a credit when you don't see it. I have never seen a rewards site provide so many chances to earn money and save towards your goals as Sunshine does. And man build a ton of friendships to boot. How many rewards sites out there have members Cruises and get togethers in your towns and forums? I have made on Sunshine Rewards for this trip alone $611.05. Here's the breakdown...

When I started this blog on February 9, 2010 I had $300 saved in Sunshine (essentially holiday shopping)

I slowly earned an average of $11.11 each week on Sunshine. Some weeks were more and someweeks I actually lost money because of a return. But the overall average was $11.11. This came from Paid Clicks, Paid Emails, Scratchoffs, Offers, Surveys, and some shopping. Over my entire life on Sunshine this is my summary which you can find on your account page.

Earned with paid e-mails:	6.50

If I can do it you can do it. Just step outside the box and away from the norm.

MyPoints is a points system and offers some great rewards. I use my rewards I earn there for Rainforest Cafe cards for our disney Trips.

Sunshine Rewards by far has the best customer Service. I am the most loyal to them because they are the most loyal to me. If I am missing a credit they find it. They have a great forum and have given me years of friendships. Plus you get $2.00 just for joining.

Anyway you look at any of these rewards sites you come out ahead.
